LAISA TRAINS FARM SERVICE OFFICERS FOR IMPROVED SERVICE DELIVERY

Lagos State Agricultural Inputs Supply Authority (LAISA), has held a capacity development training session for its Farm Service Officers as part of efforts to enable the beneficiaries continue to provide quality services to all clients and stakeholders.

The Acting Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, who declared open the training programme themed “Enhancing  Productivity of Farm Service Officers”, acknowledged the past efforts and hard work of the benefiting officers but emphasised that the training was needed to empower them to do more and also extend the knowledge garnered through the training programme to others.

She informed that the present administration prioritises the procurement of working tools, as well as training and re-training of officers, to make them more productive and fulfilled in order to carry out their daily activities efficiently.

Olusanya urged the beneficiaries of the training to avail themselves of the opportunities provided by the training to deepen and expand their knowledge, improve their capacities and hone their competencies for optimal performance of their responsibilities.

Olusanya emphasised that the Farm Service Officers need to put in more effort in their daily duties, particularly in the area of marketing and overall delivery of the agency’s mandate, saying that this is the only way to reciprocate the huge investment of the government in capacity development.

Earlier, the General Manager of the Agency, Mr. Bolaji Balogun restated the commitment of the officers in the agency to continue supporting the Ministry’s vision of boosting food production in the State by providing farmers with high-quality agricultural inputs such as seedlings, fertilizers, agrochemicals, fishing nets and fish feeds among others.

Balogun also implored the Farm Service Officers to make good use of the training in order to enhance their productivity on the job and improve sales across the various Farm Service Centres.
